Happy Nineteen Days Past the New Year. Laziness has truly flooded my life (thankfully, getting-rid-of-my-laziness wasn't one of my resolutions), and has begun to loom over my head, but I finally mustered up the enthusiasm to write this blogpost.
2014, just like the summer of 2013 (where I blossomed from awkward preteenhood and transformed into a less-embarrassing, ultra-modern-hipster version of myself), was a year where I found enjoyment and diversion in hobbies other than sulking around a computer and listening to the same two albums over and over again; I got back into reading, heeded a new interest in and a curiosity for movies, and discovered a liking for Jeopardy!. I also fiiiiiinally started writing for recreational purposes again, and I honed in on my studies (all A's, baby!). I met and witnessed absolute favorite band play live (Bombay Bicycle Club) with one of my best friends at a music festival, got to perform a scene from one of my favorite plays (This is Our Youth) at a theatre competition, and had the privilege of spending my summer basking in sunlight and bathing in seclusion at Myrtle Beach.
2014 was a fruitful year, filled with taffy-sweet and saccharine opportunities and memories I loved, hated, appreciated, and was disgusted with all at once. I'd say that 2014 was one of the best years I've been lucid enough to experience so far, but I don't want to jinx myself or say anything too soon. Let's hope 2015 is just as bitchin'.
